There Just Is No Reason To Believe That Mayo Will Be As Successful as DeMeco.

As much as fans would like to think that their team can replicate the DeMeco Ryans and CJ Stroud success, it is completely unreasonable. First off, the Texans have had a GM in place in Nick Caserio since 2021. That's 4 years of rebuilding that roster to fit his vision. Patriots fans in particular are pointing to this success as what they hope to be. The issue is they do not even have GM at this point, or at least the people in house haven't been given that title. On top of that the Patriots don’t have the other key piece in CJ Stroud, who nobody predicted was going to be this good. Expecting an organization to replicate this is very unreasonable. What the Texans are doing is an anomaly. It's not been done. Hell, if Stroud doesn't get hurt, he very likely could've won the MVP with the season he was having, in his rookie year no less while winning his division. Granted this is in the AFC South, which is no slouch as in previous years, but that division just isn't as good as the AFC East. Especially with the talent at the QB position in Tua, Allen, and Rodgers. Just out of my own thoughts, I have set the ceiling for the Patriots at 6 wins for the 2024-2025 season. New head coach, new roster, new culture, new this, new that. What’s that Patriots fans? Don’t believe me? Well then let’s look at the statistics for 1st time head coaches in Patriots history. Four interim coaches were not included because they had a couple of games from the previous season. Nine were strictly first year head coaches. Of those nine, one had a winning record, which was Pete Caroll at 10-6. The other 8 had losing records averaging 4.5 wins per season. Only Dick MacPherson 1991-1992 season reached 6 wins. Let's lower our expectations here everybody. Its much more likely that the Patriots resemble the Panthers than they will the Texans.
