Three wide receivers in NFL history have compiled eight consecutive games with eight or more receptions. They are Antonio Brown, Michael Thomas, and… Amon-Ra St. Brown. On Sunday, the Lion’s star wideout will have the chance to compile 8 receptions for a 9th consecutive game. This is something that no NFL receiver has ever done.

Amon-Ra St. Brown has emerged as the #1 receiver for a Detroit offense that looks much stronger than last year. The 2021 4th-rounder had 90 receptions for 912 yards and 5 TDs last year. This was in 17 games, but with only 9 starts at wide receiver. He also rushed for 61 yards and a TD on seven attempts. The late-season surge of 2021 has continued into the first two games of this season. He has already recorded 17 receptions for 180 yards and 3 TDs. Although unlikely, if he continues this pace throughout the season, he would net over 1,500 receiving yards in 2022. I’m not saying Amon-Ra St. Brown is a top 5 WR in this league…yet. But it is hard to ignore the tremendous production he has put up over the last 11 games between two NFL seasons. He is on the right track and rapidly ascending. Keep an eye out on Sunday. You might see a wide receiver do something that no player has managed to do in over a century of NFL football.
