As we itch closer to the NFL Draft (about 3 months away) I figured why not start doing some Patriots mock drafts! As this is my 1.0 mock draft I will not be doing any trades but as we get closer and closer to the NFL draft you will be seeing some trades.

The Patriots will have 10 draft picks this year, that also includes the 3 compensatory picks they will receive from the departures of J.C. Jackson, Brandon Bolden, and Ted Karras.

I will be using the NFL MOCK DRAFT simulator on PFF website!

RD1, PICK14: So this pick is kind of a no brainer for the Patriots. Its going to be Peter Skoronski the tackle out of Northwestern. The Patriots need to protect Mac and Skoronski will help do just that.

RD2, PICK 46: Emmanuel Forbes, Cornerback out of Mississippi State. Jonathan Jones is a free agent for the Patriots so I can see the Patriots drafting Forbes and putting him in that Jonathan Jones type role.

RD3, PICK 76: Rashee Rice, wide receiver out of SMU. Rice had a great senior year, catching 10 touchdowns for 1,355 yards. The Patriots need WR help and they'll get it with Rice.

RD4, PICK 107: Brandon Joseph, Saftey out of Notre Dame. Devin McCourty is set to retire and Jabrill Peppers is a free agent. Joseph seems like the easy decision at this pick.

RD4, PICK 117: Zacch Pickens, Defensive Tackle out of South Carolina. With Carl Davis set to be a free agent this gives Pickens the chance to become a beast at the line with Barmore, and Godchaux.

RD 4, PICK 135: Tyjae Spears, Running Back out of Tulane. With O'Brien back as OC for the Patriots, you know he loves his pass catching backs. Spears fits that mold.

RD 6, PICK 192: Ronnie Bell, wide receiver out of Michigan. Like I said with the Rashee Rice pick, the Patriots need all the help they can get at the receiver group.

RD6, PICK 210: Mohamoud Diabate, linebacker out of Utah. Before transferring to Utah, Diabate was tied for first in tackles when he played for the Florida Gators.

RD7, PICK 233: Marshon Ford, tight end out of Louisville. Ford is a big bodied tight end that will pair will with Henry and Smith.

RD7, PICK 259: One pick shy of being Mr. Irrelevant, the Patriots select, Daniel Scott, safety out of California. Scott had a great Junior and Senior year and will bring help to a Patriots secondary that desperately needs it.
